All the Wonders

One day in July
It snowed red and blue,
Some dogs chipped away,
and a bird barked too.

Cows hovered around
Just above the glen,
And the sun smiled greenly
Singing down to men.

Tiny butterflies
Weaved their flower nests.
And it lasted maybe
A second or less.

And I could but notice
That magic arise,
In a brief, brief moment
When I closed my eyes.

As soon as they opened,
It all disappeared.
World was back to normal
All the strangeness cleared.

And so all’s again
Nice, without surprise…
But now, much more often
I will close my eyes.
